Macrame Jewellery at The Yarn Artisan Store
I started creating macrame jewellery from 2020 and it was my escape from the claustrophobia that the CoVID lockdown created in the next couple of years. Most of my initial designs were inspired by those taught by the wonderful artisans in Europe and South America and while I loved them all, I did not completely relate to them. But as the years passed and my expertise grew, I could take on challenging projects and Indian contemporary and historical jewellery designs became my muses. I recreated traditional portrait jewellery designs, jadau designs, and temple designs in macrame and the versatility of this craft just takes my breath away, each time. My creation style is therefore eclectic, and blends Indian tradition with the boho-modernity of macrame.
