What Goes With What
Most jewellery that goes unworn was never the wrong piece. It was bought without checking what neckline it would have to sit above.
This is how I answer that question when customers send me outfit photos — six necklines, what works with each, what to avoid, and two pieces for every one.
The six necklines
- Round neck — a collar above the fabric edge, or a long necklace that clears it. Never mid-length.
- V-neck — follow the V. A long necklace that comes to a point, or a V-shaped set.
- Boat neck — a short structured collar filling the gap. Nothing long.
- Saree blouse — where a bib or statement piece actually belongs.
- High neck — let the earrings lead, or run a long necklace over the fabric.
- Collar or placket — long enough to run past the buttons, or short enough to sit above them.
