HOW BIG IS IT?

The bib necklace is semi-circular, about 4.5 inches deep, with a handmade extension dory. The floral studs are 1.5 inches long and 1 inch wide with a pearl drop; the jhumkis are 3 inches long and 1.5 inches wide. The large pendant is 3 inches across on a 7-inch bead chain each side with its own extension dory; the small pendant is 1.5 inches across. The saree pin is 1.5 inches long, and the ring is 0.7 inches wide and adjustable.

WHAT IS IT MADE OF?

Nylon-polyester blended cord knotted by hand, with pearls and metal beads. The earring and ring fittings are metal, so this is not a metal-free piece.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE?

Forty-nine hours, and 480 metres of cord. Every time, not just the first one. It is the longest piece in the catalogue by a wide margin.

HOW MANY WAYS CAN I WEAR IT?

At least six. The bib on its own; the bib with either pair of earrings; the large pendant as a necklace; the small pendant as a saree brooch; the ring with any of those. Most people buy it for the wedding and then keep using the pendants.

WHY IS IT NOT IN STOCK?

At forty-nine hours a piece I do not hold it in stock. It is knotted from scratch when you order.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR IT WITH?

A wedding or a bridal function, where a bib this size has the room it needs. Afterwards the detachable pendants carry it into ordinary wear. Send me a photo of your outfit on WhatsApp at 91-9944952710 and I will tell you honestly whether it works.

CAN I RETURN IT?

Yes, on unaltered pieces within 48 hours of delivery — message me on WhatsApp at 91-9944952710. Customised orders are not returnable. Gift wrapping is ₹20.

HOW DO I CARE FOR IT?

Keep away from water, perfume, hairspray and chemicals
Apply perfume and sprays first, and let them dry before wearing
Remove before bathing, swimming or heavy sweating
Do not wash, soak or tug at the knots
Store dry and separate, ideally in a soft pouch

The largest piece I make. A bib necklace with two detachable pendants, two pairs of earrings — floral studs with a pearl drop, and jhumkis — and an adjustable finger ring. It wears in at least six combinations: the small pendant doubles as a saree brooch, and the large one comes off as a pendant necklace on its own.

Forty-nine hours of knotting, and 480 metres of cord. That is more than four times the cord in any other piece in the studio, and it is why this one is made to order rather than kept on a shelf.
